Today, I had the privilege to visit National University of Singapore (NUS) together with my STINT Fellow Marcia from NIE and our host at NTU, Sophia. This is, together with NTU, one of the two large education and research institutions in Singapore. Historically NUS have been the better ranked University, but in the newer rankings the two Universities are pretty much similarly ranked internationally.
During the visit we had lunch with the management from the Centre for Development of Teaching & Learning (CDTL) discussing their work on development of teaching skills and the idea of teaching sabbatical, a meeting with Duke-NUS Medical School discussing their efforts in team-based learning, a campus tour with some very nice students and a meeting with School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) discussing their Lifelong Learning Initiatives for both NUS alumni and the public.
A nice and intense day! Thank you to everyone that made this visit possible!
